July, 2009
Greetings fellow light workers!

I've been counting down the days 'till Plein-Air Easton!
This year, I am a participating artist for the first time. If
you happen to be by the Eastern Shore of Maryland the
weekend of July 25th, stop by and see our exhibition.

Painting is such a privilege to me. I'll never complain
about the bugs, heat, scorching sun, or even the rain.
"But then, you've never painted in Easton in late July,"
you protest!  No, not even
that will bother me: I worked
at a desk for 15 years, and yes it was air conditioned,
but I'd still swap it for painting outdoors any day. So
kids, now's your chance to make a killing with a
well-placed lemon aid stand.

I've enjoyed meeting up with my painting buddies this
month.  Artists should paint together - to share ideas
and experiences. Don't get me wrong, painting is a
frustrating endeavor, I've just never considered it "work"
in the most basic sense of the word.  To me it's a
privilege and an incredibly fun journey, even in the heat.
