| June, 2009 Greetings fellow light workers! If you're in Annapolis, MD between June 7th and the 28th, stop in the McBride Gallery on Main Street to see my plein air work, and the work of similar artists including Stuart White, Will Williams, and Tim Bell, each of whom I particularly admire. This month I'm looking forward to teaching a Paint Mixing Workshop at the Middletown Arts Center in NJ as an unadvertised special. Mixing and tubing paint is very messy and reminds me of building mudpies. Our goal is to mix all the paint needed to create the DuMond Palette, also called the Prismatic Palette. I will also show students how to use the palette to paint different atmospheric conditions. By the end of the summer we will all speak the same crazy language: upright shadow values, neutralization points, and sky progression color. A few health setbacks last month, but getting better every day. Thank you for your messages and good wishes. Cancelled a few painting trips, but otherwise life is good. - Lauren |
