I want to thank my students for hanging in there with me during my most recent workshop at the Middletown Arts Center. Because it was a small (but very talented) group, we strayed from the curriculum a bit, but still managed a few demos, a lesson in mixing landscape greens, and had a lot of fun together and made tremendous progress in the process.
Since returning from my paint out in Annapolis, I've been motivated to paint outdoors more often. Somewhere I read that to become a true master, painting outdoors is the way to go. I've read that one stroke of paint outdoors has about the same learning value as ten indoors. I believe that is true.
If you paint, live near the Jersey Shore, and care to join me in my quest to capture the light, contact me and I will let you know where I am painting out during the week.
